Katrina is one of eight siblings, seven girls and one boy. Her parents are British citizens, with her father being originally from Andhra Pradesh, India. She grew up in Hyderabad, and later moved to London, UK. She started modeling accidentally when she was in Hawaii at the tender age of 14, when she was approached for a jewelery campaign. Thereafter she continued modeling in London. It was this move that encouraged Katrina to take on to acting in Bollywood as her full-fledged career and shift her base to Mumbai. Flooded with modeling assignments in Mumbai, she took onto the big screen with movies like Sarkar and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya. Her forthcoming movies include Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye and Sholay .
